Awaken the Fool through clown, voice and meditation (as reccommended by writer Nick Thorpe in his book 'Urban Worrier' See: http://www.nickthorpe.co.uk/clown-around) On Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/events/151126695010413/ The fool’s gift is the ability to be totally awake, as each moment unfolds. By developing this quality we connect poetically with our surroundings and others, communicate authentically and with compassion, befriend and play with all our emotions and experience more beauty and happiness in every day situations, our work and personal relationships. In bypassing the mind's noise through physical play, and being observant of the flow of feelings-sensations in the body, the workshop puts you in touch with an infinite source of creativity. In clown improvisation you find out that you do not need to be perfect or even good at anything. It is possible to fail successfully over and over again and enjoy it! We can be curious instead of fearful and present instead of thinking worrying and planning. And when we are present life is a joy whatever the circumstances. Playfully moving between clown, voice and meditation processes, frees the true nature of a person which is often masked by defence mechanisms and unhelpful or negative thought patterns. The focus of the clown work is heart presence rather than slapstick or creating repeatable routines. The voice work and meditation are both used to enhance and deepen the clown in play and improvisation. Awaken the Fool introduces the 1 year course, ‘Way of the Fool., ‘ beginning later in 2012. What previous participants said: I took Angela’s course for the second time last week. It felt like the brakes were pulled on my inner boring circus and many windows and doors opened to a far more interesting life. I laughed uproariously with my colleagues and cried openly. The boundaries of being looked at and looking were stretched. It is really excellent work for my performance and for my life. Georgiana Keable Everything was a surprise and the truth of it dawned on me in a profound way – this is how I would like to live my life – thinking deep and laughing a lot! It has given me a new spirit of excitement and confidence. Madeleine Grantham ‘An extraordinarily glorious course - joy, depth, wonderful balance of different elements.’ Jennifer Kavanagh ‘I have never experienced anything so invigorating or liberating.’ David Yallop The fool is a wy of thinking, a way of life, And from now on I will strive to live that way. It was great to be together to play, laugh, give one self over and over in a safe community. When the days were over, I was happy and exhausted. Exhausted, but easy in the heart, relaxed, happy and reset. Charlotte Øster Thank you for showering us with all these rich, rare and wonderful things. For challenging us gently to BE. It was all good, VERY good. Marie Calvert My life is on a new course. This has had a huge impact. I loved every minute of it. Angela does an excellent job. The structure is great, alternating between inner and outer exploration. This teaching goes way beyond clowning. Mary Mann Angela is a leader who provides security and pave the way for development. Thanks to her, I experience that things happen when I just trust that it is there. And "there" is in my heart. She is especially good for people who think they have to be good all the time. Finally, I have experienced that it is good to lose control! Anne G.Kleive Angela Halvorsen Bogo (nee Knowles) has led transformative workshops using performance processes for 25 years.
